The Princess and the Quilts

Fairy tales have been used as an inspiration for quilts, patterns and fabric.This workshop will reintroduce you to a well known fairy tale ( Princess and the pea) and tell the story how the quilts played a part. You will be creating the (doll size ) quilts from the book which then can be used as gifts with or without the fairy tale. Quilters of all ages are invited to stitch, read and even act out the story. Beginner and seasoned quilters alike are encouraged to collaborate, learn and pass on the magic of quilting.
All Levels
Required class kit, $15 - $25 payable to the instructor in class (cash/check or Venmo). The kit contains the book The Princess and the Quilts. The instructions are in the book. For an additional $10 it will come with 4 fat quarters and piece of batting.
Students to Provide
- Sewing machine in good working order.
- Machine needles size 80, machine thread in basic colors.
- Basic sewing tools.
- Fabric scissors, rotary cutter.
- For one quilt: 4 complementary fat quarters of fabric plus one 30" x 30" cotton batting.
- Bring enough for three quilts.
