Confident Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced Levels
Students to Provide
•Sewing Machine in good working order, manual, pedal, and all cords
•¼” foot, mandatory
•Rotary cutter, ruler (6” x 24”) and mat
•Basic sewing kit to include 100% cotton sewing thread that blends with selected fabrics.
•Fabric. For ~ 18” x 24” wall quilt you will need two (2) – 2 1/2” x WOF strips of EACH fabric. Fabric may be cut beforehand, but bring the yardage with you.
1. Select one large-scale multi-color print. Label it “A”
2. From the colors in fabric “A,” pick your favorite color and bring a light, a medium, and a dark value of that color.
3. Select another large-scale multi-color print. Label it “B”
4. From the colors in fabric “B,” pick your favorite color and bring a light, medium, and dark value of that color
5. Choose a third color that is in both Fabric “A” and Fabric “B” and bring a light, medium, and dark value of that color. Another option is to introduce a completely different third color in light, medium, and dark.
6. And as always, bring some extra fabrics (1/4-yard pieces) to play with.
