Meryl Ann Butler won First Place and Viewers’ Choice for her wearable art ensemble at MAQF 2025, and First Place for her wearable in 2024. She was a five-time participant in the iconic, invitational Fairfield Fashion Shows and the BERNINA Fashion Show and is the author of hundreds of quilt-related articles as well as two books. She has taught at many major quilt festivals over the last three decades and at the university level. She studied art in New York for seven years with Harold R. Stevenson, a student of Norman Rockwell, and she includes classical art secrets of values and colors, and how to apply them to quilting in her classes. Meryl Ann believes there are no wrong answers, just creative adventures on the evolutionary path— expect to have fun and learn a lot! Her art quilts and wearables are in collections around the world, including those of HH the late Swami Satchidananda, the Findhorn Community in Scotland, the A.R.E./Edgar Cayce Headquarters, Oprah Winfrey, Martha Stewart, and the late Nelson Mandela, and she is listed in the World’s Who’s Who of Women.
