Creative Clinic: Innovative Techniques for Wearables and Art Quilts (Amethyst Edition)
Full-Day Workshop
9 am - 4 pm, Thursday, February 26
“Sister” Creative Clinic workshops are offered on both Thursday and Saturday. Different techniques are taught in each workshop with no overlap; students may take either workshop or both.
Learn the techniques Meryl Ann has used in her award-winning wearables and quilts—they look so complex but are much easier than they look! She will share innovative timesaving methods combined with clever color and design techniques that will jazz up any garment or art quilt!
Beginner, intermediate, and advanced versions of the techniques will be offered so each student can work at her comfort level.
You’ll have fun learning valuable tips and methods as you complete several decorative units. Meryl Ann will demo a variety of ways that these units can be used in wearables and art quilts. You’ll leave with decorative units and the creative inspiration to use them in projects you continue at home!
Included in Thursday’s “Amethyst” workshop: Undulating Strips, Clever Checkerboard with Variations, Turbo Geese, Decorative Ribbon Strips, Quick and Easy Pinwheel Background, Faux Piping, Mock Cathedral Windows, Value Contrast Tips (with interactive chart), and more!
All Levels
Required class kit, $24 payable to the instructor in class, includes 24-page illustrated instruction manual, some fabrics, supplies, and notions. (Note: manual and kit supplies are different for each of the “sister” workshops. Optional: Some Cherrywood 8-step bundles will be available for sale in the classroom at Cherrywood’s standard prices, (cash only.)
