The instructor will walk students step by step using a cutaway process, exposing each underneath fabric with every layer created and placed on top of the previous layer. We will also discuss the best photos for the student's own projects and a bit about how to create and print a pattern.

Students to Provide
Scrap pieces of fabric (different colors, prints, and shades. Also will need lots of different blacks in shades and prints)
1/2 yard of Muslin fabric to trace image onto
1 1/2 yards of Heat N Bond Lite, Wonder Under, or double-sided fusible of your choice (No Steam A Seam Lite 2)
Pressing Sheet or Parchment Paper to protect iron surface
Small Pointed Tip Scissors (I use Kai 5100 series with a curved tip)
Fine Point Sharpie or Ink pen
Straight, applique, dressmaker or sequin Pins (please-no pins with plastic ball heads or tips just in case you need to iron over them)
Small Foam Core Board (that will accommodate an 11"x 14" project)
Ostrich Pattern (Supplied by the Instructor at the beginning of the class)
