Free-Motion Foundations for Longarm Quilters
Half-Day Workshop
9 am - 12 pm, Thursday, March 4
Build confidence at the longarm and develop the skills that make free-motion quilting feel natural, controlled, and creative. This class focuses on the essential movements and design principles behind successful free-motion quilting, helping you move beyond simply following a line and begin understanding how quilting designs are constructed.
We’ll explore foundational shapes, smooth transitions, spacing, scale, direction changes, and ways to connect motifs efficiently. You’ll learn how to break more complex designs into simple, manageable movements and how to use those building blocks to create your own quilting combinations.
Whether you are new to free-motion quilting or want to strengthen your fundamentals, this class will help you improve control, consistency, and confidence while giving you a practical toolbox of designs you can continue developing long after class.
