Half-Day Workshop
9 am - 12 pm, Friday, March 5
Play Hopscotch on your favorite jacket or vest pattern (or even the top of a jumper). It's fun, fast, and really easy! Strip-piecing on a paper foundation using fat quarters make a color splash on the front, teamed with a plain back and jazzy sleeves. The perfect way to turn your stash of cotton or flannel prints into a unique garment you'll love to wear.

Students to Provide
Sewing machcine and accessories
Simple jacket, vest or jumper pattern or use Jennifer's Pop Top Jacket *sizes XS-XXL)
Tissue pattern to trace pattern (if necessary)
2 yds freezer paper (or enough for garment fronts)
Fabrics:
7 fat quarters flannel or cotton (blue, green, pink, turquoise, yellow, purple, orange) OR 14 fat eighths (9" x 22"), 2 shades each color.
1 yard black solid for Hopscotch grid (or 1/2 yard each black solid and black/white print)
3/4 yard black solid or print for sleeves
1 yard black solid for jacket/vest back
2 yards lining fabric (or see your pattern's requirements)
1/2 yard black/white cotton print for binding (optional)
Thin batting (optional)
Long flat-head pins
Buttons (optional)
Thread. Quilting thread (optional)
Shoulder pads (optional)
Black fine-tip marker pen
24" ruler rotary cutter and mat
