Crazy Quilt Wallet (ITH)
Full-Day Workshop
9 am - 4 pm, Friday, February 27
Create an ITH (in-the-hoop) “crazy quilt inspired” sewing wallet. Learn the following techniques: applique, attaching hidden snaps, creating credit card slots for wallets, adding a zipper, pathing when digitizing to have the least number of trims, best practices when using metallic threads, how to add backing/lining to in-the-hoop projects, and piecing multiple layers of fabric together with correct registration. When completed, this project measures 6.75” w x 4” h.
***Please make sure your embroidery machine has been updated with the latest software before coming to class. Remember to bring your manual.
***Preferred hoop size: Larger hoops preferred such as 6” x 10” or 8” x 12” *5” x 7” hoops welcome (5” x 7” wallet is smaller than the larger hoops, with one less panel).
*There are 2 different size variations for this wallet. In class, we will create the smaller version, due to time. Included in each kit are all file sizes. You will be able to create the larger wallet at home, if you have a larger hoop.
***Project may not be completed by end of class. It is recommended you bring a case/box to put your hoop in to keep your project progress. It cannot be taken out of the hoop until you finish.

Required class kit, $50 payable to the instructor in class, includes
•USB Stick
•Embroidery design/pattern files
•PDF instructions of workshop (NOT a physical copy)
•#3 Zipper
•Sewing themed cotton fabric (lining fabric)
•Base fabric for applique pieces
•Applique pieces of scrap fabrics measuring 4”x4” or larger (to create a “crazy quilt” look)
•1 Set of Kamsnaps Size 20 XL Long Snaps
* All kits exclude: tear and wash away stabilizers, threads, bobbin, and 75/11 needles.
*Fabrics in kits may not match photo, as they may no longer be manufactured at time of class. A similar substitute may be used.
Stabilizers available to purchase in class, $5/yard.

•Embroidery machine with embroidery attachment arm and embroidery foot.**Preferred hoop size: 6”x10” or larger(5”x7” is acceptable, but class cannot accommodate 4”x4”)
*Machines are optional for this class. You can watch others participate and then complete the project at home if you do not want to transport your machine to class.

I will have a snap attachment tool in class, for all to use. However, if you do not reach this step in class, you will need to purchase the tool on amazon to complete at home.
