Beginner's ABCs
Half-Day Workshop
9 am - 12 pm, Thursday, February 26
A special hands-on class for the very beginners! Learn the basics of free-motion on the longarm. You will feel much more confident and inspired to develop new skills after Julia's lecture and hands-on experience. You will learn:- Basic skills for successful quilting- Simple shapes that will build your skill base (a peek into bubbles, feathers, etc)- Controlling shape, size, and uniformity of the elements- Movement and connection of the elements- What to quilt ... and much more!
Beginner Level
Required class kit, $25 payable to the instructor in class, includes fabric for top and back, batting, thread, small straight quilting ruler.
Students to Provide
- Pencil and a notebook for taking notes, doodling, and sketching
- Small scissors or snips
- Marking pen (water soluble preferred)
Available for purchase in class: Various quilting rulers for longarms and low shank machines, $10-$99.
