Dimensional Thread Painting- Techniques, Techniques and More Techniques
Full-Day Workshop
9 am - 4 pm, Friday, February 27

In the class, 8 Techniques will be covered and applied to a beautiful panel. You will learn step-by-step basic instructions for:
1) Free Motion Quilting,
2) Dimensional Thread Painting,
3) Trapunto,
4) application of multiple Overlays,
5) various 3D Layering,
6) Bobbin Work,
7) Blocking and Squaring a quilt and of course,
8) applying Crystals!

More importantly, you will learn the proper steps of creating these numerous techniques, but also why and when to apply them to a quilt!

You will see the effects of various techniques and supplies, and how they can create added interest of texture and dimension to a piece of Art!
All Levels

Required class kit
, $60 payable to the instructor in class, includes Panel, Batting, Backing, Stabilizing materials, Heat-N-Bond Lite, Multiple Overlays, Stuffing, Crystals and 18 threads for top and bobbins.

Students to Provide
PLEASE KNOW HOW TO DROP YOUR FEED DOGS , ATTACH CORRECT FOOT AND THE CORRECT SETTINGS ON THE MACHINE TO DO FREE MOTION QUILTING PRIOR TO CLASS.
Your Machine , Foot and Plate MUST be able to do a ZIG ZAG Stitch
Testing your machine PRIOR to class for Free Motion Quilting is very helpful!

Machine in Good working order, cleaned and oiled. Please bring your manual to help with machine problems that may happen in class.
Free motion foot/ Darning foot (Machine and foot must be able to do zig-zag).
Extra EMPTY bobbins, minimal 5
Scissors to cut threads
Practice quilt sandwich, approx., 12 x 12
Pressing Cloth
Needles- Topstitch #90/14
***Cotton Backing and Batting (I use Warm N Natural- NO Polyester) cut to – 20” x 24”
*** If you like to use gloves, table sliders, etc for Free Motion Quilting, Please bring to class!

Sewing Machine with Zig-Zag Capability Required
