Splashes of 10 dreamy batik colors swirl around this 12"x13" compact shoulder bag. Easy to sew, the bag features a zipper top, two inside pockets and a single padded strap. The beautiful colors swoop across the front and back. Quilting shows off the narrow bias lines between bands of color. Required class kit, $3 payable to the instructor in class, includes freezer paper foundation, pattern, and instructions. Optional: Fabric kits available: blues/pinks OR browns $20 (10 batik strips, fat quarter for bias and lining) order at jenniferiamor@aol.com.
Students to Provide
• 10 batik strips 2½" wide & 44" long (sample uses 2 navy, 3 purple dk/med/lt, 2 med. turquoise/purple and 3 It turquoise) or browns
• FQ contrasting accent batik for bias swirls
• 3/8 yd fabric for lining (44"x13 ½")
• 5/8 yd fleece or foam style batting
Notions:
14" zipper;
l yd freezer paper;
sewing and quilting thread;
fine tip black permanent marking pen;
chalk fabric marker
18-24" quilting ruler such as Omnigrid,
18" or larger mat and rotary cutter.
Sewing thread to blend with fabric color or grey.
Sewing machine, spare needles.
General sewing supplies:
scissors,
flower-head long pins,
small hand towel plus 2 pressing cloths,
stitch ripper,
small piece of masking tape.
