Students will learn tips and tricks to create a fantastic curve while making blocks needed for Picnic Petals, designed by Sheri. Class includes step-by-step instructions and quilting tips. Sheri will also share her favorite tools and tips for staying organized. This is a good class for quilters who have never sewed curves or those who want to gain more experience.

Students to Provide
- Picnic Petals pattern included in workshop fee; will be emailed as a PDF by the instructor for students to print.
- Fabric for the quilt size you are making (see info in Picnic Petals pattern)—no need to cut prior to class.
(If you’re unsure about final fabric selection or quilt size, just bring fabric that you like, or what you have, and focus on learning the process during class. Most students will complete one Center Block and one Border Block by the end of the workshop.) - OPTIONAL Picnic Petals Acrylic Template set (available through Whole Circle Studio)
(makes cutting quicker and more efficient plus you don’t need to make your own templates) - If you do NOT want to purchase the OPTIONAL Picnic Petals Acrylic Template set (see workshop #SS025Kit), cardstock or acrylic pattern material to make templates—details found in the Preparation directions in Picnic Petals pattern
- Sewing Machine with ¼" foot or guide (If you don’t have a ¼” foot, blue painters tape will work—you can make your own ¼” guide!)
- Basic Sewing Supplies:
– Thread
– Thin Pins (I like Iris Superfine Pins)
– Seam ripper
– Marking pen/pencil
– Scissors, Acrylic Ruler, Rotary Cutter I highly recommend a small 28mm rotary for getting around the curves - Iron and pressing surface.
