Cotton, silk and novelty fabrics will collide with color and texture and trims in this fast and easy sewing machine class. Hearts will be quickly fused to blocks. With clear thread in the machine, sew a variety of French trim to conceal raw edges. Learn twin needle sewing to sew fusible Bohin bias hearts. Red flower trim can be easily sewed by hand or machine. Learn how to hand sew beads, mini-French ric rac and ribbon by hand to the rare vintage Mark Lipinsky fabric in your kit or choose to machine stitch. Learn to fuse silk velvet fabric leaves without crushing it and how to machine sew it in place. Learn how to machine couch fiber that is too thick to run through the machine. Fabrics in your kit may vary from those shown here.

Note: In the notes section of your registration, indicate whether you would like your fabric kit to be brighter colors as shown or more neutral and quieter colors. Students to Provide
-Sewing machine cleaned under the plate with medium gray/taupe polyester thread in the bobbin.
-a couching foot for your sewing machine. If you do not have one, bring a plastic straw.
-fabric scissors, paper scissors,
-pins long and fine,
-variety of marking pens/pencils,
-variety of hand needles,
-small ruler,
-tape measure,
-awl or tool for controlling bulk under the presser foot,
-polyester thread in other colors,
-an iron and optional Clover Mini Iron if you have one,
-good lighting and magnification recommended.
