Tina Craig: Improvisational English Paper Piecing (3-Hour WS, Thurs, 1/25/24, 12-3pm EST)

Improv isn’t just for machine stitching! Learn the basics of English Paper Piecing and create a project that is uniquely yours. Instruction will include designing, basting, hand stitching, and finishing. You’ll have lots of options in this class: rectangle or hexagon block; straight lines or curves; solids or prints. Each choice will yield a different look. The class handout will include instructions for finishing your mug mat after class.
All Levels

Students to Provide

• 4-6 coordinating fabrics; large scraps, fat eights or fat quarters
• Fabric glue pen and refills
• Hand stitching needle: Straw or Milliner size 9 or 10
• Strong, thin thread such as Superior Bottom Line 60 wt, 2-ply polyester
• Thimble recommended
• Separate scissors for paper and fabric
• Masking tape or paper first aid tape
• 1 sheet of medium-weight card or cover stock ~65#
• Colored pencils or crayons, optional
