Learn the basics of Dimensional Thread Painting and Embellishment on this beautiful Exclusive printed Photo Panel. We will cover the step-by-step process of Dimensional Thread Painting, using zigzag and straight stitching. See the fabric come to life as you sew and layer the threads on top of your design, adding shading, highlighting, texture, and definition. You will use Thread as the medium to sew with different types of threads and color combinations. Learn the strategic placement of threads to enhance the overall appearance of the panel, giving it a three-dimensional look and feel.
All Levels
The workshop fee includes the $75 class kit. The Class Kit includes an exclusive printed panel and 13 threads for top and bobbins. Please note: Physical kits can only be mailed within the continental United States.
Students to Provide
PLEASE KNOW HOW TO DROP YOUR FEED DOGS, ATTACH THE CORRECT FOOT, AND THE CORRECT SETTINGS ON THE MACHINE TO DO FREE MOTION QUILTING BEFORE CLASS. Testing your machine before class for Free Motion Quilting is very helpful!
MACHINE- Machine in Good working order, cleaned and oiled. Please bring your manual to help with machine problems that may happen in class. Free motion foot/ Darning foot (Machine and foot must be able to do zig-zag).
Supplies: Extra EMPTY bobbins, minimum 4
Small Scissors to cut threads
Practice quilt sandwich, approx. 12 x 12
Cotton Backing and Batting (I use Warm N Natural - NO Polyester), cut to 17” x 20”
Needles - Topstitch #90/14 (Janome Machine-use Purple Needle)
Pigma Pen - Black; size .08 (Optional)
*** If you like to use gloves, table sliders, etc. for free-motion quilting, please bring them to class!
