Torreah “Cookie” Washington is a fourth-generation needle worker and nationally recognized fiber artist based in Goose Creek, South Carolina. The first in her family to embrace art quilting, she transforms cloth into works that honor ancestors, preserve African American traditions, and celebrate the Divine Feminine.

Her art has been featured in films, museum collections, and traveling exhibitions nationwide. Every stitch, she says, is a prayer, a story, and a gift to the future.

Torreah “Cookie” Washington is a Goose Creek–based fiber artist, curator, and craftivist who transforms reclaimed textiles into quilts and baskets that honor ancestors, preserve culture, and keep fabric out of landfills.
