6-Hour Workshop
10 am - 4 pm EDT, Wednesday, October 14
Dresden plates have always felt like flowers, stars, or even fireworks—but most of all, flowers. In this class, we’ll create a few modern “plates” while exploring a variety of edge finishes and piecing techniques. We’ll play with color, experiment with layout, add bias or raw-edge stems, and design our own unique “gardens.” This class is perfect if you’d like to make just a few plates rather than a full quilt. Bring your favorite “flower” fabrics—prints or solids—and choose either a solid background or a pieced one. Appliqué can be done by hand or machine, giving you plenty of flexibility. And remember—your garden doesn’t have to be spring! It can reflect fall, winter, or summer. It’s your garden, make it your own.

Please note: Students will receive a PDF of the class pattern, Dresden Springtime, by email. Please print it before coming to class.
