Upcycled Fabric Weaving - Rugs & Baskets
6-Hour Workshop
10 am - 4 pm EDT, Thursday, March 26
The workshop fee includes the $45 class kit. The Class Kit includes Written instructions with photos, 2 flat weave needles, 2 Puzzle mats to hold work, 12 yards of 3-inch wide rag strips-natural color for running strip, 10 yards assorted colors working strips-3 inches wide for working, strips will include prints and solids, and 1 dozen clips to mark stitches. Please note: Physical kits can only be mailed within the continental United States.

Student will learn to create an oval rug and basket using a no-sew, no-loom weaving technique. This is a sheet yarn or reclaimed textile skill. It has been taught worldwide for centuries. 2 fabrics are used, one being woven around the other to produce the rug and basket.

Students to Provide
5 to 7 yards of fabric or 2 queen-size sheets cut into 3-inch wide strips.
