Japanese Boro Stitching
Half Day Morning Workshop

Saturday, October 19, 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Japanese Boro Stitching began long ago as a way of mending clothing, but it has evolved into the loveliest of art forms that is done by many as a daily practice. This mindful hand stitching is pared down to the basics using very simple stitches. The beauty of the work evokes a great appreciation for simple pleasures as you learn the design, construction and stitching on a square compiled of a variety of fabrics. All levels.

Materials List: Kit fee $20, payable to instructor, includes silk organza, assorted fabrics (all fabrics needed for project), selected hand printed motifs, assorted embroidery threads and a pack of 16 needles. Bring to Class: Basic sewing kit that includes scissors, straight pins, hand sewing needles and thread for basting. Fabric marking tools —white pencil, Frixion pen or blue water erasable marker. Small ruler. Available for purchase in class: Stitch Kits for $39.95. Design Packs for $19.95.
