Want to learn some fun ways to make your half square triangles more scrappy, less wasteful, and give them a whole lot of zing? Come join me as we spend the day learning and perfecting the Accordion Sewn HSTs method and then play with several of its variations: Flying Frankies, Accordion Sewn quarter square triangles, and machine appliqued accordions. You’ll leave class with a whole new skill set for making and using half square triangles in upcoming projects and you’ll never look at a half square triangle quite the same way again!
All Levels
Required class kit, $20 payable to the instructor in class, includes all materials needed to make four blocks using the various different methods we are going to be employing. All pieces are precut.

Students to Provide
- Sewing machine
- Piecing thread
- Full bobbin
- Rotary cutter
- 6” square ruler or similar
- Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers IF YOU OWN THEM or another tool you love for trimming half square triangles. CPSTs will be available for purchase in class if you fall in love with them.
- Pencil
- Safety pin
- Basic sewing supplies (scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc)
