Fused appliqué is a great way to make a quilt. It goes quickly and you can edit at any time! Choose a pattern in class and get started on an art quilt that is at least 60 inches on each side and even larger! The material fee includes a 3 x 4-foot pattern printed on nice bond paper. You make templates using Wonder Under fusible webbing, iron them onto fabric and then create your own quilt. If you don't want to make a huge quilt, you can easily just work with the center to create whatever size interests you. All levels.
Materials List: Pattern (3’ x 4’ printed on high quality bond paper), $12 payable to instructor. Bring to class: Medium size Scissors to cut detailed pieces of fabric fused to WonderUnder (I use a 5" Gingher). Paper cutting scissors. Mechanical pencil or Sharpie Ultra Fine Marker (Sharpie Pen won't work). 2 yards Pellon® 805 Wonder-Under® paper backed fusible webbing. Fabric Supplies: Half or quarter yards or scraps. Pick four hues (for example, purple, red, yellow, orange or blue, green, purple, red) and bring two values of each hue, (example, light blue, dark blue would be one hue, two values) 8 pieces total; You'll need more to complete the quilt, but there is no need to lug all of it to class. No background fabric will be needed in class, but you'll add one later at home. Optional: Quilt Pins to help hold down pieces; Foam core (pin your pieces to foam core to hold them in place while you iron, 18” x24” or similar).
