Materials List: Select a solid/hand-dyed/batik fabric for preference with no discernible R/W side. Please cut all pieces before class. 1. Bias Block: (3) 4-1/2” squares. 2. Interlocked Squares: (5) 4-1/2” squares. 3. Petal Pattern: (4) 2-1/2” squares + (4) 4-1/2” x 2-1/2” rectangles. 4. Crossed Tucks: (1) 7-1/2”. square + (4) 2” squares. 5. Origami Twist: (1) 8” square. 6. Fancy Fandango: (2) 8” squares + (1) 4-1/2” square. 7. Flower: (1) 7” square + (1) 4-1/2” square. 8. & 9. Tucked Blocks: (1) 9-1/2” x 10” strip (this strip is enough fabric for both blocks). Border: (1) 9” x 44/45”strip. Thread to match fabric. Notepad, pencil, 12” ruler + general sewing accessories. Tucked-up & Embellished Circles, Full Day

Experiment with delectable, textural and tactile circular designs. Tuck, twist and twiddle pleats for a stunning square or circular wall-hanging, pillow or quilt center. Embellish tucked edges with stitch or yarn, play with the tucks then mount on to backing material. Bind the edge and add some ingeniously twiddled inserts! Materials List: Work in medium weight muslin or select solid/hand-dyed/tone on tone cotton. If pre-washing spray starch when pressing to restore ‘body’. Please cut all pieces before class. Cut: Circles, Edging & Binding - (2) 25” squares, (12) 4”squares, (1) 15” square. Background: (1) 25 - 30” square. Selection of thin yarns + machine threads (60 wt is good) for embellishment. Twitch, Twiddle and Tweak - Manipulated Magic, Full Day

An ingeniously innovative 3D circular sunflower-like design packed with nifty notions for tactile and textural manipulation. Easy to assemble, no awkward templates, just Jennie’s especially simple novel piecing technique. Creativity rules: play with the shapes, experiment with color, embellish with beads and embroidery, tuck in an insert or two and “Hey Presto!” a delightfully delectable hanging/pillow/quilt block approx. 28” square. As seen on Alex Anderson Simply Quilts. Students should complete or almost complete their class sample ready for quilting. All levels.
Materials List: This block can be made from one colour or use a variety of materials, but plain/hand-dyed/self patterned are the best choice. Pre-wash all materials and use spray starch when pressing to restore ‘body’. Please cut all pieces before class. Petals: (12) 5-3/4” squares in same color (as in photo) or 6 in one color + 6 in another contrasting color. (12) 3” squares (inserts between petals, pink-purple in photo). Flower Center: (1) 5” square (pink in photo). Background fabric: (1) 22” square (black in photo). Border: 2 x 1/4 yd - suggest use same fabrics as petals and inserts - (1) 1/4 yd of each. 30” square of 2 oz. or similar low loft batting. 12” or longer ruler. Thread to match fabrics.
