SPECIAL KIDS WORKSHOP - Share Your Talent with the Next Generation

Share Your Talent with the Next Generation, Ages 10 to 16
 - Saturday, 9/15/18 - 1 pm – 4 pm  
 - Sunday, 9/16/18 – 12 noon – 3 pm  

Alternate SquaresJoin us for an afternoon of fun alongside your child, grandchild, niece, nephew who wants to learn to quilt! This class will be taught by designer Rachel Rossi and Quilts for Kids President, Linda Arye. Students will learn basic skills by creating simple quilt tops that will then be donated to Quilts for Kids. Pre-cut kits for students will be available for a $10 fee and we will have fun and informative learning experiences about selecting fabrics, basic sewing machine skills, and ironing. Come join us, make special memories with your loved one, and make a difference for a child in need.
Materials List: Optional kit, $10 payable in the workshop, includes all the pre-cut fabric for the quilt top. If you would like to provide your own fabrics, please come with all fabrics cut and ready to sew using the Alternate Squares pattern provided by Quilts for Kids (click here). Please also bring basic sewing supplies to the workshop.

There is no charge for this workshop but the adult accompanying the child must pay general admission at the door of the show. Child’s parent/guardian must stay in class with children who are under 13 years old; parent/guardian is not required to stay with child 13 and older during class.

Workshop Instructors:
Rachel Rossi – Lancaster, PA
Rachel Rossi is a creator of sewing and quilting patterns. Because of the impact that quilting, sewing, and other fiber arts had on her childhood, Rachel is passionate about bringing quilting to the next generation. She believes that this is a sacred tradition passed down from generation to generation and creates new art and precious community.

Linda Arye – Fairless Hills, PA
Trained as an Interior Designer, Linda Arye turned her love of fabric into the non-profit charity. Quilts For Kids, Inc. She is wife to Lowell and mom to daughter Mollie, who was the hospitalized child needing a cuddle. The charity is in honor of her.
